Laura has been supporting clients with financial and retirement planning strategies since 1996. Prior to 1996, she was a practicing Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at an accounting firm in Connecticut where she focused on tax preparation and tax planning for a myriad of individuals and corporations.
Between her CPA years and prior to joining Sage Financial, Laura lived abroad for three years with her husband, Steve, who had been relocated to Paris and eventually Germany as part of his job. During those years, Laura held the position of Vice President of Events on the executive board of the American Women’s Group in Paris and helped to organize and coordinate cultural events for its members as well as fundraise for French women’s education. Upon her return to the States in 1996, Laura expanded her financial services career through her employment at Sage Financial Design.
Laura has been working at Sage Financial Design for over 25 years and has helped create comprehensive financial plans to meet the clients’ goals and objectives. She has successfully transitioned clients through their many phases of life using a holistic approach which has provided detailed and positive financial planning experiences which in turn has created and fostered long-term relationships with her clients. With both her tax and financial planning background, Laura’s objective has always been to listen and create successful plans for clients that are both tax efficient and tax smart while providing a positive financial planning outcome in the process.
Laura graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. She holds both a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation.
Laura is the current Treasurer of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Connecticut of which she has been a member for over 25 years. In addition, she is a past President and current Board member of the Licia & Mason Beekley Library in New Hartford, CT where she currently resides with her husband and two adult sons.
Laura enjoys being outside and spending time at West Hill Lake kayaking and paddle boarding. She enjoys exercising, cooking, and reading. Laura loves to travel and treasures her family vacations with the goal to continually navigate the world and learn from the many different people and cultures she explores.
